New Reception Intake Sept 2021

We are thrilled to welcome your child and family into our school community. At Cage Green we recognise that parents are a child’s first educator and aim to develop excellent relationships between home and school so that we can work together to ensure your child is happy, fulfilled and reaches their full potential.

Starting school is an exciting time for young children and a major milestone. However, it can also be a daunting time for children and parents too. With this in mind we have organised a thorough transition for your child to ensure that they have a happy and settled start to Cage Green Primary school.

Due to current government restrictions our transition will work a little differently this year:

On Monday 12th July and Wednesday 14th July we will be organising small group visits to the school for our new starters. The children will have the opportunity to meet their new teacher and a few of their new class mates in the reception outside area while parents enjoy refreshments on the school field.

On Wednesday 1st September 2021 children will be invited to attend a class visit in the afternoon. This will be an opportunity for children to meet all of their new class and their teacher within their classroom. During this visit parents will once again enjoy refreshments on the school field.

Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd September 2021 children and parents will be invited to meet their teacher and class TA for individual meetings. These meetings are an excellent chance for us to get to know your child better and for you to ask any question you may have about your child starting school.

Monday 6th September will be the children’s first day at school. Children will stay until 12:00PM

Monday 13th September children will stay for lunch and leave school at 1:30PM

Monday 20th September children will begin staying at school full time.

Since April we have stayed in touch regularly with our new starter parents. Below is the welcome pack parents have received as well as the activity ideas children have received from the school.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact myself or the school office on 01732 354325 or through email:

Please look out for more exciting information in the post from us soon.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs A Carter

Deputy Head Teacher and Starting School Leader
